Memotile is a vocabulary app that helps users improve their vocabulary in a painless way on their language learning journey. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app processes, how it is used, and your choices.

What data we collect

Data you provide directly

Memotile does not require account creation and does not collect names, email addresses, or other contact information.

Device and app data (non-personal)

We use Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and events related to ad interactions to serve and measure ads. See “Third-party SDKs” below.

Local app data (on your device)

The app stores limited game preferences and counters (e.g., ad cadence, daily free batch usage, selected language, local progress) on your device via platform storage APIs (such as SharedPreferences). This data does not leave your device unless you back up your device.

Network requests

The app may fetch a random image from The Cat API to enrich gameplay visuals. The request includes your device’s network information as with any standard web request. No additional personal data is attached by the app.

Purchases

When you purchase a subscription to remove limits/ads, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive your full payment details. We store only minimal entitlement state on-device and query Play Billing to confirm your subscription status.

How we use data

  • To provide core gameplay features and remember your selections and progress locally on your device.
  • To display and measure advertising via AdMob.
  • To process in‑app purchases and verify your entitlement via Google Play Billing.
  • To fetch optional visual content from third‑party image APIs.

Third‑party SDKs and services

Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)

Used to show interstitial ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to deliver personalized or non‑personalized ads, prevent fraud, and measure performance. You can opt out of personalized ads from your device settings (Ads / Advertising ID settings).

Google Play Billing

Used to handle in‑app purchases. Purchase information is processed by Google. We store only minimal entitlement state and query the store to verify your subscription.

The Cat API

Used to fetch a random image for optional visuals during gameplay.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Limited data is shared with our service providers listed above strictly to provide the app’s functionality (ads and purchases). Data may be disclosed if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Your choices

  • Ads: You can limit or reset advertising identifiers in your device settings, and you can purchase a subscription to remove ads in the app.
  • Local data: You can clear the app’s data from your device settings to reset locally stored preferences and progress.

Children’s privacy

Memotile is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information within the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Data retention

We retain only minimal local app data on your device for as long as you use the app. Ad-related and purchase-related data are retained by Google according to their policies.

International transfers

Third‑party providers (Google and The Cat API) may process data on servers located in multiple countries. By using the app, you acknowledge such processing according to their policies and applicable laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly. Material changes will be communicated via an in‑app notice or app update notes when appropriate.
